Where to be: Grizzly's, the bar at the base, baby!
When to go: Early (I'm talking like 12pm) if you want a seat at the bar on a cold day. Otherwise, hit it up after getting those turns in around 3:30-4pm but be ready for the crowds and cold brews.
What to order: Bloody marys, local brews and...nachos, nachos, nachos!
Grizzly's is the place to be for après ski at Stratton, VT. Sit by the massive, floor-to-ceiling windows and take in the mountain view! It's located right at the base of the gondola on the second floor of the main lodge. By 4pm, this place is jam packed and a great time to be had by all! There is live music every weekend and the bartenders do an awesome job at keeping everyone happy and drinks full. Be sure to say hi to 'the new guy', Stevie, behind the bar!
As far as food is concerned, their nachos are amazing and should be shared; they are as large as the mountain you just conquered all day. They also have a variety of other options including appetizers (gotta get the VT Maple BBQ wings!), soups/salads, sandwiches, burgers and pizza.
Not sure what to drink? Try one of their 3 bloody marys, which are cleverly ranked from beginner (green circle) to expert (black diamond). All are delicious. Not feeling a bloody? Try out a local brew from VT including Switchback, Long Trail and other favorites. Want to warm up? Order up a peppermint hot schnapplates: you won't be disappointed. I promise.
